NRL 2020 Round 2 – Betting tips & Predictions

Canterbury Bulldogs vs North Queensland Cowboys – March 19

Tip – The pundits and online betting sites have been making a lot of noise about both the Dogs and Cowboys chances in 2020, and with this trip to Sydney, the Cowboys have an early chance to put their away form to the test.

The Bulldogs are always tough to beat on their home turf, and with the Sydney weather already turning damp and a little cool, it plays into Canterbury’s hands.

St George-Illawarra Dragons vs Penrith Panthers – March 20

Tip – The Dragons must be ready to buy a lotto ticket, after the draw has handed them two home games to start their season of redemption.

While the Panthers were impressive last weekend, one can’t help but feeling that the Dragons will be tough to beat at home in 2020 with so much to prove after disappointing last year.

Brisbane Broncos vs South Sydney Rabbitohs – March 20

Tip – The Broncos open their home season with a really tough battle against one of the Suncorp Stadium nememes, the Bunnies.

South Sydney look a class above most teams at this early stage of the season and the sports betting odds have them as one of the teams to beat for the NRL Premiership in 2020.

New Zealand Warriors vs Canberra Raiders – March 21

Tip – The Warriors basing themselves in Kingscliff and playing their home game away on the Gold Coast, has had sports betting sites resetting the betting odds at a rate of knots for the ‘home’ team this week.

The Canberra Raiders were in sublime touch in Round 1 and should win, unless the Warriors look on this as a shot to play above themselves.

Sydney Roosters vs Manly Sea Eagles – March 21

Tip – The Roosters continue their quest to be taken seriously after the departure of Latrell Mitchell, despite being double-defending Premiers.

We’re expecting the Chooks to scrape over the line in a tough battle on the Central Coast, where it’s actually not too far from Manly’s home base.

Cronulla Sharks vs Melbourne Storm – March 21

Tip – With 2 matches away in Sydney to start the year, the Storm couldn’t plan it any tougher if they tried. The Sharks curiously take this match to Kogarah.

However, any team coached by Craig Bellamy and with one ‘C.Smith’ in the side cannot be taken lightly.

Wests Tigers vs Newcastle Knights – March 22

Tip – The Wests Tigers should be better for having a run and returning to Balmain for some Sunday arvo suburban footy.

Michael Maguire’s men will be looking to ambush a much tougher Knights team than we’ve seen over the last decade or so.

Gold Coast Titans vs Parramatta Eels – March 22

Tip – Already hot favourites to win on the Gold Coast, the Parramatta team also have the luxury of a 10 day break in helping them nurse their big and powerful set of forwards.

The Titans are always brave at home, however, the twilight start, and no crowd to support them may see the beach dwellers struggle.
