2020 AFL Round 10 – Preview, Expert Betting Tips & Odds

It was a home team feast in Round 9 with eight of the nine home teams winning their games.

We have expert betting tips for Round 10 AFL, which features some highly anticipated games, including Crows vs. Eagles and Swans vs. Collingwood.

AFL Round 10 Betting Tips

Friday 24/05/19

7:50pm Sydney Swans vs. Collingwood Magpies @ SCG

The Swans were the only team in Round 9 to score an away win. That came via the North Melbourne Kangaroos and it should hold them in good stead for this.

That being said, it’s the Magpies standing in their way and they’re the hottest team in the competition right now. A 112-71 win over the Saints last week continued their winning streak.

Bookmakers have the Magpies as the 21.5-point favourites but we’re predicting a close game in Sydney.

1:45pm Hawthorn Hawks vs. Port Adelaide Power @ Uni of Tasmania

The Hawks didn’t really fire a shot against the Tigers last week but that’s stiff competition. It should be slightly easier this week against the Power, but they’re coming off a stylish home win.

Power scored an 89-51 win over the Suns, as expected, but their problems stem away from home. Wins on the road don’t come all that often for the Power and playing in Tasmania is never easy.

This should be a close contest between two sides than need some momentum.

2:10pm Western Bulldogs vs. North Melbourne Kangaroos @ Marvel Stadium

The Bulldogs and Kangaroos are coming off disappointing Round 9 losses and a turnaround will come for one of them.

Bulldogs were 133-89 losers to the Geelong Cats and although they were average on defense, there were some positive signs with the ball in hand.

The same can’t be said for the Kangaroos, which scored only 72 points playing at home on Saturday night.

We’re not sure what to make of either team this season but the Bulldogs should have the measure.

4:05pm Adelaide Crows vs. West Coast Eagles @ Adelaide Oval

It was a painful loss for Crows’ fans last week, going down by one point to the Brisbane Lions.

That would have continued their momentum with a rare away win but it was not to be. They now take on the reigning premiers, which looked good winning 85-69 last Friday night.

The Eagles dispatched of the Demons but much like the Crows, winning on the road hasn’t been all that easy.

Adelaide Oval is a tough place to come so we’re expecting a tight game.

Betting tip: Eagles to win @ $1.97 Bet Now

7:25pm Gold Coast Suns vs. Geelong Cats @ Metricon Stadium

It’s another dismal season for the Suns after losing 89-51 to the Power last week and we’re not expecting quick improvement any time soon.

Geelong comes into town with another booming record under their belt after beating the Bulldogs 133-89 last week.

The Cats have been rolling this season and they’re looking like a minor premiership contender, despite this being only the 10 th round.

35.5 points is a lot to cover but the Cats should do it.

Betting tip: Cats –35.5 @ $1.90 Bet Now

7:25pm Richmond Tigers vs. Essendon Bombers @ MCG

Bookmakers have Richmond as the –14.5 favourite following their win over the Hawks last week. It was a nice display of footy, which saw them win by 36 points.

Essendon were pushed to within seven points by the Fremantle Dockers but they came out on top and that’s all that counts.

Richmond is a tough team to beat when they have some momentum and we think the Bombers might have a disappointing game in store.

14.5 points isn’t much to cover for the Tigers and we’re confident they can do it.

Sunday 26/05/19

1:10pm Melbourne Demons vs. GWS Giants @ MCG

The demons for the Melbourne Demons continued last Friday when they suffered another defeat to the Eagles.

This season isn’t quite progressing how they would have liked and how many had expected. They’re now the underdog to the Giants, which are coming off an emphatic victory on Sunday night.

Giants thrashed the Blues 138-45 and they sent messages to the rest of the league. They should be feared and they can win on any given day.

We’re going with the better 2019 side here.

3:20pm St Kilda Saints vs. Carlton Blues @ Marvel Stadium

Carlton were humiliated against the Giants last week, losing by 93 points. They’re going to need a massive turn around this week, despite playing the Saints.

St Kilda were also only fair last week when losing to the Magpies but their level of opposition was tough and they should come through that game better than the Blues.

It’s always tough to decide between two less-than-average AFL teams, but the Saints appear the better club this season so we’ll stick with them.

Betting tip: Saints –13.5 @ $1.90 Bet Now

3:20pm Fremantle Dockers vs. Brisbane Lions @ Optus Stadium

A great game to close the week sees the Dockers looking to rebound after a tough loss to the Bombers last week.

Looking to continue their momentum, however, are the Lions. They scored a one-point win over the Crows in what was an exciting finish.

Playing away from home is never easy for the Lions but we’re liking their chances on Sunday.

Fremantle has been good at times but are not consistent enough for our liking.

Betting tip: Lions to win @ $2.12 Bet Now
