Best fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 5
We’ll admit it: This isn’t the most exciting week on the waiver wire. There’s no Wayne Gallman or Daniel Jones waiting for you out there. Instead, it’s the familiar name, A.J. Brown, from our Week 1 waiver report and no-name, Colts backup RB Jordan Wilkins, who might garner the most attention. ( Update: Marlon Mack did not suffer an injury in Week 4, rendering Wilkins fairly useless.) Ronald Jones is also interesting, if you have the stomach to go down that route again. We also have a few QB streaming options thanks to the rapidly declining in ownership Kirk Cousins, along with the Red Rifle, Andy Dalton.
At least Week 5 will see the return of two players from four-game suspension: Golden Tate and Benjamin Watson. Tate is a must-add in every league, while Watson could be a good add for those who’ve been struggling at the tight end spot this year. Chris Herndon, who will be the Jets tight end upon his return, won’t be back until Week 6 since New York had a Week 4 bye.
If you’re playing the matchup game at tight end, you know how bad the Cardinals have been against the TE position. In Week 5, it’s the Bengals taking on Arizona, so Tyler Eifert makes our list as this week’s best tight end streamer.
As we saw last week, things can move quickly for players in our waiver wire article. Daniel Jones, Kyle Allen and Wayne Gallman all went from featured in our waiver article to being the headliners on our Week 4 sleepers. Check out this week’s list to see which players will fit that mold ahead of Week 5.
