Today’s MLB DFS Picks: Advice, strategy for Wednesday’s DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy baseball contests

We’re working with an eight-game main MLB DFS slate today, but there are many great cheap pitching options from which to choose. Because you’re likely going to have to pay up for pitchers on both FanDuel and DraftKings, we’ll try to focus on a few more lower-cost bats than usual.

Today’s MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings, FanDuel advice for Wednesday, May 15

SP: Mike Soroka, Braves vs. Cardinals. Soroka has been tremendous since returning to the Braves rotation. He has a 1.23 ERA and over a strikeout an inning so far this season and has yet to give up a home run. He has a tough test today versus a very good Cardinals lineup, but he’s still in play for GPPs.

C: Yasmani Grandal, Brewers @ Phillies. Grandal has been really good this season in a year where catchers are hard to come by. He is hitting .265/.363/.455 with seven home runs and three stolen bases. One might think that he really benefits from his home park, but the majority of his damage has been on the road, where he is hitting .302 with five homers. He faces Jake Arrieta in Philly today.

1B: Mark Reynolds, Rockies @ Red Sox. Reynolds continues to get looks versus lefthanded pitching, in large part because he has a long track record of taking southpaws deep. Six of his 10 bombs have been versus lefties, and he is facing Eduardo Rodriguez today in Boston.

2B: Brandon Lowe, Rays @ Marlins. Lowe has shown a ton of power and maturity in the majors. He is hitting .286 with a .879 OPS and eight home runs this year. He gets a great matchup with homer-prone Jose Urena today.

SS: Manny Machado, Padres @ Dodgers. After a slow start to his Padres career, Machado is getting hot. He is hitting .327/.358/.694 with five home runs in May. He has a nice matchup versus a struggling Kenta Maeda today.

3B: Austin Riley, Braves vs. Cardinals. With Ender Inciarte getting hurt last night, the Braves are promoting Riley to the majors. Riley is the top hitting prospect in the Braves system and was off to a fantastic start in AAA, hitting .300/.376/.671 with 14 home runs in 36 games played. He should play almost every day right now with Inciarte ailing.

OF: Juan Soto, Nationals vs. Mets. Soto appears to still be knocking off a little rust since returning from the IL. However, he has power and shown more speed than many thought would be there. His fantastic command of the strike zone gives him a great floor for cash games, and the matchup with Wilmer Font gives him some upside for GPPs.
