NBA Finals Historical Series Odds List
With a fourth straight NBA Finals featuring the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors on the horizon, oddsmakers are not expecting the 2018 matchup to be a tightly contested affair.
Online shop BetOnline initially opened the Warriors as astronomical -900 favorites and that number moved to -1000 shortly after. The Cavs, meanwhile, opened as +675 underdogs but were sitting at +725 as of this writing.
Surprisingly, that number is significantly smaller than last year’s Finals, when the Warriors opened as -2000 chalk. The Cavs were +1000 prior to Game 1 of the 2017 NBA Finals. LeBron James and company weren’t able to replicate the magic of their historic comeback from a 3-1 series deficit in 2016 and lasted only five games against the Dubs.
