Caesars becomes first-ever ‘official casino of the NFL’
An “official casino of the NFL”? You bet.
The NFL and Caesars Entertainment Corporation have partnered, the two announced Thursday, marking the first time the league has designated an “official casino sponsor of the NFL” on a league-wide level.
The partnership begins with the 2019 NFL playoffs, which start this weekend with AFC and NFC wild-card games. Per the NFL, “the multi-year sponsorship is focused on Caesars providing unique experiences for NFL fans.”
Under the agreement, Caesars will have the exclusive right to use NFL trademarks, including the Super Bowl and NFL Draft, in the United States and United Kingdom to promote its casino properties and activate at key NFL events.
“We couldn’t be more excited to work with one of the world’s largest gaming and entertainment companies,” NFL senior VP Renie Anderson said in a statement. “Combining the NFL with Caesars’ expertise in world class entertainment will provide our fans unique experiences both here in the United States and abroad.”
Caesars president and CEO Mark Frissora added: “All of us at Caesars Entertainment are thrilled to be the first-ever casino partner of the NFL, the most prominent sports league in North America.”
Seven NFL team have relationships with Caesars Entertainment: the Falcons, Ravens, Bears, Colts, Saints, Raiders and Eagles. Those partnerships along with the new league-level deal are for the casino category only and do not include sports betting, daily fantasy or hotels/resorts, the league noted.
Caesars, alongside other casino properties on the Las Vegas Strip, will host elements of the 2020 draft in coordination with the city of Las Vegas, where the Raiders are scheduled to begin play that year.
