The Telegraph racecard delivers premium analysis for all meetings in the UK and Ireland, making it an essential punting pal before you place your bets.
First and foremost, our exclusive racecards will assist you in making informed decisions. The Telegraph racecard is presented in easy-to-understand graphical form, taking out some of the hard-grafting form study for you before you place those bets.
Each horse is given an all-important star rating for the race, based on a sophisticated algorithm which crunches hundreds of pieces of data so you don’t have to.
Having punched all the numbers, our database provides you with a positive/negative star rating for every runner in every race. The higher the rating (green) the better the perceived chance of the runner.
When available, past performance data is amongst the most important factor for most cases for form study. Our racecards includes five key categories and show you the win-ratio and percentage for each horse in the race.
These categories are: Overall Career, Ground, Distance, Race Class and Course.
Accompanying each runner and their statistics per category, you will also find the winning percentage associated with past efforts.
Pace analysis can be crucial. In this section we use previous performances to predict where each runner is likely to race – H (Hold-up), M (Midfield), P (Prominent), L (Lead). These indicators provide a statistical analysis of how each horse is likely to line-up in today’s race.
Using this pace analysis, you can cross-examine with the previous profitability stats shown at the top of the racecard for each style of racing and this may help you find the winning formula.
Stats are key, but getting to the bottom of them can often be labour-intensive for punters. For each runner, our Telegraph Racecard ensures this is made very straightforward and extremely accessible.
Positive Stats (green check-mark) and Negative Stats (red cross) are listed beside each runner. Simply hover over each individual indicator for the quick explanation. Examples include: trainer/jockey combinations by track/overall, Course & Distance record (C&D), trainer course record, jockey course record.
An in-form trainer is a very useful punters’ ally. Use our form-trends to show how every trainer in the race has been performing with their runners in the previous 14 days.
Trainer / Jockey Record
Just as important as a trainer in useful form are the records of a particular yard at a given track, with certain trainers shining at specific venues. Punters can also take positives knowing a jockey has tended to ride well at the track in question and our quick-view stats also include the winning ratio for a trainer/jockey combination at the track.
Make an informed decision
With all these stats instantly at your disposal, coupled with the latest odds for each race, punters can confidently make their decisions for every race in Britain and Ireland.
