Ultimate Boxxer 4: Who’s fighting on packed cruiserweight bill at Altrincham Ice Arena
ULTIMATE BOXXER returns on Friday for the fourth instalment of the blood and thunder sporting spectacle.
And the Manchester Altrincham Ice Arena is sure to take in a lively affair as eight cruiserweights come to town.
The tournament will give the boxers a chance to make a name for themselves in front of a national audience – along with a huge portion of the £50,000 prize money.
Who is fighting at Ultimate Boxxer 4?
AFTER the overwhelming success of UB II in London, BT Sport took over the broadcast rights.
And as a result, the Ultimate Boxxer brand looks set to take off in the UK, with a whole new generation of fight fans targeted by the organisers.
Each evening will feature a knockout-style tournament, with this edition seeing eight cruiserweight fighters competing for £50,000.
London-based Mikael Lawal is the overwhelming favourite to win the tournament, priced as low as 1/10 with MansionBet.
Here’s how the evening shapes up at the Ice Arena:
- Quarter Final 1 – Damian Chambers v Matt Sen
- Quarter Final 2 – Mikael Lawal v Antony Woolery
- Quarter Final 3 – Dan Cooper v David Jamieson
- Quarter Final 4 – Tony Conquest v Rhasian Earlington
Undercard: Sean Fennell, Drew Brown, Ben Mulligan, Bradley Rae, Khaleel Majid & John Telford vs Jack Killgannon.
How can I live stream Ultimate Boxxer ?
FOLLOWING the success of the first two editions of Ultimate Boxxer, the boxing entertainment brand has teamed up with BT Sport.
The contract signed states that a minimum of five Ultimate Boxxer events will be broadcast live by BT in the UK and Ireland.
And it’s hoped that the new knockout-style format can attract the next generation of sports fans on a more regular basis.
As a result, you can catch all the action live from Ice Arena on BT Sport or on BT Sport’s YouTube channel.
Coverage begins at 7.45pm on Friday, July 19, with the action at 8pm.
If you want to live stream and have a BT subscription, this will allow you to watch on either channel by downloading the official app on your mobile, tablet or PC.
Can I watch it for free?
THOSE of you without a BT subscription can head over to the official YouTube channel.
Whilst there will also be coverage and analysis throughout the night on the Ultimate Boxxer Youtube channel.
Those with EE Sport phone contracts can also get a 3-month free trial of the BT Sport App.
SunSport’s quarter-final highlight fight
London-based Lawal – priced at 1/10 with MansionBet – is clearly well-fancied, and fights out of the Stonebridge gym.
He’s managed by Aamir Ali, and promoted by Nisse Sauerland – since turning pro in 2017, he’s accumulated nine wins from nine fights, and six by stoppage.
Nicknamed ‘The Beast’, Lawal has learnt from sparring with the likes of Oleksandr Usyk and Tony Bellew, as well as Team GB Olympian Lawrence Okolie.
He said: “There’s definitely going to be some explosive fights. I always force the action so this will suit me.
“Unlike a lot of the others, I’ve got the one punch hit to take you clean out. I don’t think the others are as ready as me. It’s my time to step up.
“Success in Ultimate Boxxer will provide me with exposure and encourage a lot more fans to follow my journey.”
Facing Lawal is Wolverhampton-born Woolery, a 34-year-old with only two fights in his professional career so far.
