NFL odds Week 13: Picks against the spread for every Thanksgiving game

Thanksgiving means lots of turkey, gravy, apple pie and of course, NFL football.

The league has a triple-header scheduled for the holiday, including a couple teams expected to be in the NFL playoffs come January.

If you’re looking to wager on these games while you’re sitting on the coach waiting for a second helping of dinner, you’ve come to the right place.

Here are the latest odds (via the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas) and my picks against the spread for all three games on the 2019 NFL Thanksgiving slate. All picks are italicized.

Updated NFL playoff picture entering Week 13>>>

Chicago Bears (-4.5) at Detroit Lions, 12:30 p.m. ET on FOX
The Bears offense is putrid right now — it hasn’t scored more than 20 points in each of the last five games — but the Lions have lost four straight games, including a horrendous 19-16 defeat to the Washington Redskins in Week 12. Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is not expected to play, and backup Jeff Driskel didn’t play well as the starter last week. Driskel threw three interceptions against a bad Redskins defense, and his matchup is far worse Thursday versus a very talented Bears defense that allows the fourth-fewest pass yards per attempt.

Buffalo Bills at Dallas Cowboys (-6.5), 4:30 p.m. ET on CBS
The Cowboys were averaging 32 points per game over the four weeks leading into Sunday’s 13-9 loss to the New England Patriots. Dallas couldn’t get anything going in the rainy conditions in New England, but its offense should get back on track at home in perfect weather conditions Thursday afternoon. The Bills have an 8-3 record, but their schedule has been incredibly soft to this point. Buffalo has one win against a team that currently owns a winning record (6-5 Tennessee Titans). The Cowboys have little room for error in the NFC East title race, and they will get a much-needed victory with a bounce-back performance from No. 1 wide receiver Amari Cooper.

New Orleans Saints (-7) at Atlanta Falcons
This is a classic revenge game for the Saints, who were embarrassed at home in a 26-9 loss to the Falcons three weeks ago. New Orleans is 4-1 against the spread on the road this season and 7-2 straight up in its last nine games versus NFC South opponents. The Saints are a huge favorite to win the division, but a first-round playoff bye is still very much up in the air. The intense competition for the top two seeds in the NFC by itself should provide all the motivation the Saints need to win this game. The craziest stat from the Falcons’ win over the Saints earlier this season was Atlanta getting six first downs as a result of New Orleans penalties. If the Saints cut down on these mistakes, they should have little trouble beating the Falcons.
